“I was previously living in a hostel and had a lot of family issues. I was not in a good place and when I first came to Action West London I felt I had no direction. Since being here I have managed to secure a 3-month paid contract from Marks & Spencer, Brent Cross after having completed a placement with them for 2 weeks. I am now happy since I’ve made a huge change and turned things around. Big thanks to Action West London for helping me turn my life around!”– Hafeed, August 2016

"When I first came to Action West London (formerly Action Acton), I wasn’t too confident about their services. I felt like I had been out of employment for a few years and the job centre just had enough of me. But since attending Action West London, they have really helped me to stay focused and back into employment. Would like to say a big thank you to the whole team. Very much appreciated!” – Kyle, July 2016

Long-term Unemployment of 17 years

From being long-term unemployed, lacking the required skills needed for the current job market and facing a number of difficulties, Beverley has finally managed to secure a job after 17 years! She now works as a Care Coordinator and this is what she has said about coming to Action West London’s Work Programme:

"I didn't want to come in at all as it was annoying to come in all the time making it a very different experience for me. Action West London turned out to be helpful with CVs and the BOC (Better Off Calculation) also really helped me see what kind of hours I could be doing while still receiving my benefits. I received good support for CV writing and cover letters. The constant use of the computer and IT work really helped give me confidence to doing work online." - Beverley, 2016
