DWP Work Programme

The Work Programme is the Government’s employment programme to help people into sustainable employment. It runs alongside Jobcentre Plus activity to provide employment support and replace much of the current mainstream welfare to work provision in England, Scotland and Wales.

What is the Work Programme?
The Work Programme delivers employment support  for Jobseekers Allowance (JSA) customers and Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) customers who are eligible for Work Programme support. This includes ex-Incapacity Benefit claimants who have been moved to ESA or JSA following a work capability assessment.
